Harry Potter has a very special place in my heart - it was my childhood, and its ending really moved me.

But the Oscars aren’t about sentiment for a generation. They’re about the quality of the films themselves. And while I thought DHP2 was a really good movie - one of the best of the series - I don’t think it deserves to be called the best film of the year. If we were talking about best/most important moments in pop culture, it would top the list. No question.

But as a film on its own - completely disregarding the phenomenon that is Harry Potter - DHP2 doesn’t deserve an Oscar nom for best picture. That’s just my opinion; you’re free to disagree, of course.
